Rest
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 KJV
There are times when the weight we carry cannot be seen by anyone else.
We carry responsibilities, unanswered questions, concerns about our families, and situations we've prayed about again and again. We keep going, keep showing up, and keep trying to hold everything together.
And somewhere along the way, we become tired.
Not simply tired in our bodies—but tired in our souls.
Jesus gives us a beautiful invitation: “Come unto me.”
He doesn't tell us to figure everything out first. He doesn't ask us to have all the answers. He simply invites us to bring Him what has become too heavy for us to carry.
You may have become accustomed to carrying the weight, but that doesn't mean you were meant to carry it forever.
Rest doesn't mean every problem has been resolved or every prayer has been answered. Rest means we have decided that what we cannot carry, God can.
We can pray and then rest. We can wait and still rest. We can face uncertainty and still rest.
Because our rest isn't found in knowing what will happen next.
Our rest is found in knowing Who holds what happens next.
So today, consider what you've been carrying. Bring it to Jesus. You don't have to understand everything before you release it.
Sometimes faith simply says:
“Lord, I've carried this long enough. I'm giving it to You.”
And then...
Rest. 🌿
